The Information Technology Group (ITG) is responsible for:

    * Managing Macquarie's technology infrastructure
    * Supporting, maintaining, and enhancing existing business systems
    * Delivering and deploying new systems, technologies, and services

The Group provides each major business in Macquarie with a dedicated team that works closely with that business to understand its particular technology needs.

The Manila Resource Centre (MRC) based in Makati City, Metro Manila forms part of ITG’s strategic goal to offer first class IT support and development to the Macquarie group of businesses and since it’s inception in October 2007, the MRC has played a key role in the provision of ITG services to end users within the organisation.

We are currently seeking a motivated senior data network engineer to join our team in Manila. The primary responsibilities of the role are to support, maintain and develop the Group’s Data and Voice Network platforms. Additional role responsibilities will include:

    * network architecture, design, implementation and escalated support
    * capacity planning and management
    * system maintenance (including preventative maintenance)
    * management of small to medium sized projects
    * updating and maintaining system documentation
    * network monitoring and management
    * developing voice standards
    * providing technical consultancy to business units and other IT teams
    * interfacing directly with end users
    * initiating, managing and implementing change

It is essential that you have a strong Cisco networking background (both LAN, WAN and IP Tel) with proven expertise in the firewall, wireless and VPN environments.

You will be expected to manage data network processes and procedures, manage data networks BCP/DR design and documentation, investigate future network trends and technologies including suggested timing of implementation and pilot new equipment services where possible.

To be successful in this role you will have demonstrable experience in:

    * Cisco Routing & Switching
    * Checkpoint experience
    * Nokia and PIX firewall appliances
    * Cisco VPN concentrators
    * Riverbed steelhead devices
    * Aruba wireless platform
    * MPLS network technology
    * Cisco Call Manager

In addition you will:

    * be a strong team player can fit into a dynamic team
    * possess good communication and coordination skills
    * be able to demonstrate strong project management skills
    * have prior experience in vendor management and technical consultation
    * be comfortable interfacing and working closely with other architecture teams.

The ability to assume responsibility, manage escalations from 2nd line teams and manage communication with business liaison staff is essential to this role.
