The Information Technology Group (ITG) is responsible for:

    * Managing Macquarie's technology infrastructure
    * Supporting, maintaining, and enhancing existing business systems
    * Delivering and deploying new systems, technologies, and services

The Group provides each major business in Macquarie with a dedicated team that works closely with that business to understand its particular technology needs.

The Manila Resource Centre (MRC) based in Makati City, Metro Manila forms part of ITG’s strategic goal to offer first class IT support and development to the Macquarie group of businesses and since it’s inception in October 2007, the MRC has played a key role in the provision of ITG services to end users within the organisation.

Macquarie’s Global Infrastructure Projects (GIP) team is currently seeking a Junior Project Manager, based in Manila, to manage the end-to-end delivery of infrastructure projects. In this role you will be responsible for managing smaller IT related projects as well as providing support to other GIP Project Managers and supporting the Engineering Services Manager. The role will involve clarifying requests for engineering resources based in Manila, checking timesheets, and overseeing the resource load for each technology team. You will be responsible for Group-wide IT projects around IT infrastructure and service delivery. Potential projects include:

    * encryption & data compression for global wide area network
    * deployment of wireless LAN & IP telephony
    * upgrades of core storage
    * Unix servers
    * delivery of Bank-wide database version upgrades
    * implementation of specific infrastructure solutions for business applications

The emphasis in this role will be infrastructure technology delivery, rather than business application delivery. We are looking for candidates with experience across the whole project lifecycle, including:

    * project definition
    * managing project deliverables
    * developing business cases across both business and technical requirements
    * completing detailed tasks
    * project implementation
    * testing
    * hand over to production status
    * post implementation reviews
    * managing base-lined project plans/schedules.

To be successful in this role you will ideally have:

    * 1-2 years project management experience, ideally with IT infrastructure e.g. Windows, UNIX, Networks; finance industry experience would be an advantage.
    * excellent communication skills to assist with dealing with vendors, presenting to management, liaising with internal clients and coordinating technical staff
    * the ability to manage expectations, as you will need to understand the requirements of clients, expectations of project sponsors and the capabilities of technical staff and to manage these competing drivers to deliver a balanced solution
    * the ability to take ownership and demonstrate pro-activity & drive. You will be required to take ownership for the success of the projects, pro-actively identify and address impediments, motivate the team & resolving issues which impede delivery
    * a professional project management qualification e.g. Prince2, PMP (desirable but not essential)
